The OpenHRMS platform offers you a Dashboard module that comes up with a visually appealing palette for perfectly managing human resource operations. This module will be a great assistance and support to the HR persons, employees, and higher authorities. The various graphs and metrics displayed in the Dashboard window make it very smooth to view, grasp and share data without confusion. In this chapter, we can explore the OpenHRMS Dashboard module.

To get the advantages of the Dashboard module, you should make sure that the module was installed in your system or not. If it is not installed, you can install the module from the App store. Once you install it, the Dashboard module icon will display in the main dashboard window of the OpenHRMS database.

Let us have a look at the home dashboard of the module. The image of the window is depicted below.

The above OpenHRMS Dashboard window will display all the essential tools and options to generate real-time information. By viewing the Dashboard window, you can gain an overall idea about the human resource modules and the application. Moreover, it is the best platform to simply manage the documents and efficiently take care of each operation. This interactive kind of dashboard will enlighten you about all the operations.

The left portion of the window manages the details of the particular login.

Here, you will get all the related information regarding the particular user, such as the user's name, job position, gender, age, joining date, nationality, and contact number. The right portion of the window includes all the details, and it facilitates different data and reports. You can gather information with a single view.

The Dashboard window offers and displays all essential tools to gather real-time information. This module is the right way to have a quick glance at their timesheets, company contracts, payslips, leave requests, and their broad factor for examining their leaves. Moreover, the managers or the authorities can have a glance at their subordinates, and the window provides an employee division diagram that will depict the employee based on their departments. It is very useful to have a department-wise analysis. In addition, the manager can view the leave allocation requests, leaves taken today and the current month, job applications and many more. It also displays the monthly leave analysis, joins/resign analysis and many other details. Let us discuss each point with the screenshot below.

Here in the screenshot, you can view a colourful and attractive dashboard with a lot of information. The OpenHRMS is designed with a Dashboard module in a way to describe each important piece of data in a visually pleasing manner. Each data or report is arranged with different colour codes. A single view itself gives complete knowledge about each operation. By viewing this window, you can find the number of payslips, Timesheet, and Contracts. Broad Factor generated for this particular user. Here in the screenshot, Mitchel Admin is the user and the payslips, Timesheets, Contracts developed for Mitchel Admin are displayed here. Each of these buttons can be selected for viewing the respective details.

The Payslip menu assists the user to understand the total count of the Payslips generated for this particular user. The user can select the payslip menu for viewing its details. Once you click on the Payslip button, you will enter into the employee payslip window, where you can view the details of the payslip generated for this particular user.

In the same way, you can view the respective windows by clicking on the suitable icon. It can be used to analyze the details. That is, you can access each of these data with just a single click. You can very easily get into the reports.


The Timesheets menu will allow you to view the number of timesheets created for this particular employee or user. And you can select the menu to jump into the Timesheets window for viewing the details.

The Contracts tab available in the dashboard module is very beneficial for checking the contracts of the user. With the help of this window, you can have a cross-check on your contracts, and there is no need for searching for your contact details from the employees' contracts list.

Broad Factor

The broad Factor denotes the factors that depend upon the leave of the employee. When you click on the Broad Factor menu, you will be directed to the leave request window as shown in the image below.

Leave Requests and Job Application

It is also possible to view the number of leave requests in the Leave Requests icon, the number of leave requests for today, and the number of leave requests this month. Each of these menus can be selected. If you select these icons, the system will take you to the respective window. There you can view the status of the leave request and other information regarding the request. Similarly, you can view Leave Allocation Requests and Job Applications. In the Leave Allocation Request, you can view the leave request raised by the employees working under the respective user. Similarly, the Job Application menu gives the details of the job applications received by the company. By viewing this menu itself, you will get whether or not you have a new job application.

The dashboard module is beneficial for both the employees and the managers. When we discuss the manager's side, they can have a complete view of their company operations because the dashboard window provides various business analyses. The window gives you a department analysis of the employees working in the company.

Here you can view the Pie diagram that offers you the department wise analysis, and it gives the employee proportion with their departments. The reports are generated in different color formats. Here in the window, the green shade denoted the Sales department, dark blue shows Marketing, and the light shade represents Administration. This pie chart analysis will give the user insight into the various departments associated with this company. Apart from the diagrammatic representation, each data will be described on the right hand side with the department name and number of employees in each department. By viewing this report, the user can have a clear idea about the strength of each department, and they can have an analysis of which department has more strength and which is less.

Monthly Leave Analysis

If you scroll down the window, you will see a Monthly Leave Analysis, as shown in the image below.

This monthly leave analysis will be very useful to the managers or the responsible authorities to have a leave analysis of the employees from all departments. The system also displays the department wise leave percentage, which will provide a quick overview of the time offs.

Monthly Join/ Resign Analysis

The Dashboard module included in the OpenHRMS platform is the dedicated system that showcases the operations' overall analysis. It even depicts the monthly joining and resigning details of the company. The graphical analysis will envision the user about the joining and resigning count.

Attrition Rate

The Attrition Rate analysis will provide the user with an insight into the customer retention rate of your company. The Attrition rate analysis will allow you to understand how much the company has the ability to retain its employees. By viewing this graphical representation, the user can take suitable actions to retain your employees.

Upcoming Birthdays, Upcoming Events, Upcoming Announcements

The OpenHRMS Dashboard module provides you with the opportunity to recall your upcoming events, birthdays and announcements. When you scroll down the Dashboard module display, you will see the options,as shown in the screenshot below.

The Upcoming Birthdays tab showcases the details of your employees' birthdays. It will be an outstanding feature that helps the user remember their employees' or colleagues' birth dates so that they can plan parties and surprises.

The Upcoming Events tab also will be a useful feature that will act as an alert message to remind the user about the upcoming events. Similarly, the window will manage the important announcements

My Leave Analysis

The intuitive system will showcase the leaves analysis of the user in a graphical representation at the bottom of the dashboard window. The line chart represents the leave pattern of the user. By viewing this window, the user will get a clear view of the number of leaves taken during different periods.

All these options can be viewed when login in as an admin user. If the login is an employee user, they can only able to view their own Payslip, Time Sheet, Contracts, Broad Factor. And only visible the upcoming birthday of the employees of their company, events, announcements and their own leave analysis. for viewing this, let us log in as an employee user. the dashboard of the employee will look like in the image below.

Viewing the dashboard module gives the user an overall idea about each process without going to each module or through every document. in the case of a normal employee, they will get an overall idea and overall metrics view of their own company operations. the module provides both the administrative and employees with all the information which they required.
